Bad movie, yet again

My husband decided to watch Jeepers Creepers 2 (he likes the monster, and specifically, bad monster films), and I'm just rolling my eyes and ranting about the idiots in the film. Frankly, I think most of them deserve to die.

If one of your friends had his head ripped off by a monster through a hole in the bus roof, would you look up through that same hole to see WTF the monster was doing?! Didn't think so. Damn, I wish they'd hurry up and get killed.

Funny, that's what a buddy and I thought when we went to see Blair Witch II. No one in the cast of characters deserved to live.

Hmm, never saw that one. My husband and I saw the original in the theater, and he couldn't wait for them to die because of their outdoor-survival stupidity: Destroying (?) the map, not figuring out a direction to start walking based on the jet that flew overhead in one scene, and so on.

Me, I found it was a good demonstration of the concept that not everyone can ad lib convincingly. Dialogue in films is not that close to how people speak in every day life (most of the "ums" and "ahs" and false starts are gone, for starters), and if you let just anyone ad lib, you get stilted speech interlaced with more uses of the word "fuck" than you'll get out of most Tarantino films, or at least you did in this case.

I don't know. I think if you tried this with really smart actors or actors who have trained extensively in improv, you could get past the ad lib part. Unfortunately, the filmmakers were working with what they could afford.

Oh, I agree - I've seen good actors manage ad lib very nicely. That didn't happen here.
